So it Sunday, I’m sat at home and I’m thinking what to do! For
some time now I have been craving afternoon tea and cake. So I make a plan to
go to Manchester to my favourite place for some afternoon tea. As it was a Sunday
I felt like I wanted to be comfortable but still have made an effort. So the
OOTD was my light wash denim h&m jeans which can’t really be seen in the picture
as I was sat down. Paired with my current favourite knitwear my oversized
cropped high neck jumper also from h&m. The accessories to go with this understated
outfit was my pink Nike comfy trainers and my antique double coin and stone
ring with a gold band.
The vibe
A vintage sort of 1950s collective of mishmash interior and
furniture. This was my sort of style a mixture of beautiful items that worked well
as one cohesive piece. Sugar Junction was full of interesting and beautiful ornaments
from the eye-catching wall art to the tableware of the floral tea cups and plates.
This is the perfect place for all those Instagram picture lovers who want to
capture the perfect pic of the day or just to captures some great interior
photography. As an interior designer and a lover of furniture I love the
pairing of different seating and chairs with each table.
Afternoon tea
By the time I arrived at Sugar Junction it was already time
for tea and scone so that’s what I ordered. It was afternoon tea with scones
but no tea as I was craving for chai latte, the chai latte was just dead-on as
it hit the right balance between sweet and spiced with a frothy top layer of
sweet milk. The scones were warm when the waiter brought them to me so I had to
wait for them to cool down but the wait was worth it. These were sultana flavoured
scones and they were so yummy to eat, the moist soft inside was still nice and
warm when I cut into it. It was accompanied with classic strawberry jam and
clotted cream. Depending on which way you do it the jam and then the cream or
the cream and the jam it was still yummy and scrumptious to eat.
By the time my sister and I left it was already time for
dinner that being an early one at that. It was past five so the shops were
closed too so we decided to make our way to the restaurant.

For dinner we both were craving Italian food so we found an independent pasta restaurant in Manchester and went there.
The vibe
As we arrived early, therefore there was not much of an
atmosphere at the restaurant but we were so hungry for pasta that it didn’t bother
us if it was quiet. A small rustic style interior with a warm welcoming family
vibe with friendly staff that warmed me to enter Pasta Factory. As true to its name the restaurant was also a
display of all pasta styles showcased in their beautiful counter displays. As the
night progressed the restaurant got busier and I realised then this was the
right place to be at.
The food
Two hungry sisters so we had to order a starter and a main, for
the starter I ordered Bruschetta with
roasted red peppers and mozzarella to share. The starter was so good and yummy;
the red papers were like a pickle to accompany the soft creamy mozzarella
cheese and bread. The mains were Gnocchi
Alla Barbabietola a delicious earthy and rich pasta dish made of fresh beetroot
and potato with peas & asparagus
on a bed of creamy Gorgonzola. I was not disappointed at all by the food
choices, my only critique would be that the potion sizes are too big but if you
are a big foodie like me then that won’t be an issue.

So if your someone who loves food and finding new places to eat then I highly suggest going to both of these places and you will not be disappointed.
Please find below links to Sugar Junction and Pasta Factory and I shall
see you next week, plus have a lovely weekend.
