Food Festival Review

So its Manchester food festival and being the big foodie I am I couldn’t wait to get there. So first on the plan was to get ready and that’s what I did, my makeup of the day was a berry bronzy eye makeup with a matt base and a pinkie nude lip.  My OOTD was my Topshop Stripe Crop Wide Trousers paired with my high neck crop H&M jumper I brought last year and my black pointy flats I brought from Asos.  As it was raining I had to wear a coat so my sister’s it was, being unaware of the awful weather I certainly was not dressed for the right occasion.

The festival was based in the city centre so it was not hard to find it, and there was parking nearby which was a bonus in that dreadful weather. As soon as I walked in all I could smell was the aroma of the yummy food stalls located around the square.

After strolling around the festival I came across a Mexican stall which were selling all the yummy Mexican food I love. First thing I ordered was sweet potato chunky wedges which were topped with Jalapeño, tomatoes and salad leaves under the wedges with sweet chill sauce and garlic mayo drizzled on top. For a veggie starter this was yummy it had the right balance of sweet potato with a spicy sauce just the right start to the food festival. (opps forgot to take a pic)

Next on the plan was to try something else so as I walked along the festival I come across a pasta stall which gave off beautiful aromas of the food. At The Pasta Project I ordered Napoli Pasta a Spaghetti with garlic, olive oil & chili flakes. It was a soft pasta full of spicy flavour with the heat from the garlic. My only cretic would be that the flavour was to hot and intense because of the garlic and chili flakes. Although it still was delicious to eat and I did enjoy it. (again opps forgot to take a pic)

So for my second main I kept to the spicy flavours of street Indian food which I love. There was no hiding from this it was full blown hot in your face which I am used to as a lover of Indian food. This was typical street food full of flavours, textures and spicy sauce of course. So I ordered the kati roll a delicious South Indian style fried chicken, served in a flatbread with slaw, green chutney and chilli and garlic sauce topped with crispy Bombay mix. This was a tasty chicken main full of different flavours and textures which was filling for one person potions just enough to keep me going until I have the final meal of the day.

The perfect ending to the food festival was some absolutely yummy Mexican churros with chocolate. Fried dough pastry that was moist and soft inside and crunchy on the outside coated in cinnamon and sugar and then you dip it in chocolate and it is just food heaven. This was my type of sweet food that had the right balance of mild heat with sweet sugar.
I would highly suggest any of my readers to go to food festivals as they are the best in trying different food.

I shall see you all again next week bye for now!
